This is a bad page. OpenGL does not strictly follow Direct3D shader model nomenclature. This page should focus instead on detecting what features you have access to. It should do that though the version number of OpenGL you have, as well as testing what extensions are available. Alfonse 20:55, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
