Usage:

Use this template in a category page, where the category consists of templates, to explain how to add templates to that category. To use this template, add the following to the category page:

{{addtemplatetocategory|what=what the templates do, e.g., help users to foo.}}

which displays the following (automatically replacing "Template:Addtemplatetocategory" with the appropriate category name):
